    A question regarding 3d

    Can someone explain why 3D isnt backward compatible for current LCD/Plasma owners with refresh rates greater than 60hz? Couldn't a Blu-Ray (Like ps3) just alternate sending left and right eye and have an IR "Controller" to output IR to shutter glasses?

    It doesnt make sense to me that the IR to Shutter glasses control isn't being done by the blu-ray player.
